Who is your client?
My client is not everybody, and I am ok with that. I want you to be happy, so it's important to me that your vision meshes with my style. If you're looking for perfectly posed photographs, I'm probably not your gal. My client is creative. They can be a little quirky and likes to take risks. My client is unafraid of the non-traditional. By the end of this process, we are friends. Someone who wants to capture their unique and genuine story. My client finds beauty in the everyday moments. My client is awesome.
GEAR?
Not one, but two Nikon full frame cameras to ensure I'm always backed up. I shoot 100% raw. I have a love affair with film photography. For personal work you'll usually find me shooting with a medium format Pentax 645N or my trusty 35mm Nikon F100. I'm slowly moving toward offering hybrid sessions for clients which would allow you to choose between a combination of film and digital images.
investment?
I try to keep things simple. Session fees and digital images have been rolled into collections to make your investment easy. Collections start at $1195. Purchase of a collection is required to book a session. You can also order individual a la carte prints in addition to a collection purchase. Please contact me for full collection and a la carte pricing.
What will my session be like?
I like to keep things genuine. Organic. Real. I encourage you to pick an activity or two you'd like to do with your kids to keep you moving and interacting in an authentic way. We'll probably chat a bit, I'll get to know you and your kids and I'll snap as we go. I plan for one to two hours per shoot. You're always my only session of the day, so you can rest assured that I'll take the time needed to authentically document the story of you. I'll capture some posed shots. I'll become a fly on the wall and capture lots of in-between shots. Your kid might have a giggling fit. Your kid might have a meltdown. I'll capture that too. And I'm willing to bet those will be your favorites.
But my kid's won't sit still…
I have yet to come across a kid who will. Kids should be kids. I have a toddler. I get it. I try to keep you and your kids moving throughout your session. I encourage breaks. If you are willing to go with the flow, your session will be awesome. Your kid's quirks will shine through and make your session so uniquely you. Embrace it.
WHEre will my session take place?
I shoot exclusively in-home sessions and so all of my sessions take place where you and your family create your most special memories every day, your home. Why? Firstly, I'm a firm believer that this is the place you'll remember your family being together, leaving you with photographs that will stand the test of time. Also? I have seen, time and again, that families are the most relaxed and able to be themselves in front of the camera in the comfort of their own homes. And that's what I strive to capture. The authentic, beautiful, YOU. Surrounded by the people you love most in the place you all call home. There is a travel fee for locations outside of a sixty mile roundtrip radius to Yasmina Cowan Photography.
when can i see my images?
Two to three weeks after our session, you'll receive a password protected online gallery where you can view your proofs. From there, purchasing your collection is easy. For weddings, please allow four to six weeks to receive your gallery. I put just as much heart into my post processing as I do my shooting, I promise you.
When will my purchased photos be ready?
Digital downloads are available immediately. For print purchases, please allow four to six weeks for your prints to be processed and shipped to you.
