a day in the life | december edition

Last month, I started up a blog circle with some pretty terrific women photographers. The aim of the project was simple; one day a month capture a slice of your daily life and celebrate the beauty in the everyday. We called it "a day in the life". What I didn't realize at the time was that through this project I would also be making some of the most amazing friends a girl could ask for. 7 women from completely different backgrounds and parts of the country who, through our passion for photographic storytelling, have found common ground and formed wonderful friendships. That's what I've come to love most about this project. In case you missed last month's inaugural post, you can check it out here. Be sure to follow along the circle at the end of the post to check out what my friend Erin McGregor has been up to this month. She is an incredible photographer (and happens to live in a winter wonderland)! You won't be disappointed! This month I captured a somewhat ordinary day spent at the grocery store and picking out our second (yes, second) tree at the Christmas tree farm. Don't ask, long story... Somewhere between the grocery store and my one year old's epic meltdown I began to lose hope that my captures would be anything but ordinary. And then, for a few brief minutes, the sun peeked out and I was able to quickly snap some of my favorite images yet. So there you have it, a day in the life...

Please follow the circle around and check out what Erin McGregor's day in the life looks like here. Be sure to also check her out on Facebook, tell her I sent you!  :)

a day in the life | november edition

It started as a conversation between friends and has grown to be a project that I am so very excited about. Six lifestyle photographers from across the country forming a circle and blogging once a month about a day (or an hour, or 5 minutes!) in the life of our littles. We all wanted to slow down and capture the everyday moments. I am thrilled to be working with this amazing group and can't wait to catch a glimpse into their everyday. This month, I chose to blog a very ordinary Saturday, because I want to remember even the most ordinary moments through the eyes of my sweet girl. When you've read the post be sure to click on the link at the bottom of the post and follow the circle around to check out what my talented friend Jennifer Nobriga has been up to this month . Her work is so refreshingly honest and beautiful, you will not be disappointed!

Now follow the circle around and check out what a day in the life looks like for Jennifer Nobriga here.  She's awesomely talented, you can see more of her work on Facebook here too!

project 365 | july - september

I am so glad I took on this personal project this year. Though there are days when I feel completely lacking in creativity and throwing in the towel, there are so many more days where I am grateful for the moments it has enabled me to capture in our daughter's first year and the strides that I've made in my career. Here's a selection of my favorites from the past three months, we are settling into Fall and I am officially in the home stretch! :)
